California Conference on Alcohol Problems, Inc.

About us
Since 1975,statewide constituency organizations have cooperated in sponsoring an annual educational conference for those working in the field of alcohol and it's related problems. In 1981 participating representatives of various organizations decided to incorporate the conference to further it's goals of increasing communication and educational opportunities. The organization was formalized in September 1982 and granted nonprofit tax status in May 1983. The first full Board of Directors was elected in
September 1983.

The annual conference grew out of yearly membership meetings sponsored by the California Association of Alcoholic Recovery Homes in 1975. CAARH invited other organizations in the alcohol field to participate. The success of the 1975 conference launched a more expanded effort the following year. This has continued for the past 31 years, with meeting site alternating between Northern, Central and Southern California.

Other organizations participating with CCAP over the years include: State Advisory Board on Alcohol Related Problems, California Alcohol Programs Administrators Association of California, California Hispanic Commission on Alcohol and Drug Abuse, California Women's Commission on Alcohol and other Drug Dependencies, The involvement of Statewide and Regional organizations is growing in scope and numbers.

CCAP is a nonprofit organization supported by membership contributions. We invite you to join us in fostering communication among all those in California who work in the alcohol field.
